Sonia

Sonia is an experienced psychotherapist who began her own journey to recovery over a decade ago. Sonia combines her training in existential psychotherapy along with first-hand knowledge of 12-Step treatment models to support clients to explore and deepen their understanding of themselves, to ultimately enable them to move forwards and act as an agent in their own lives.

Sonia has previously worked across low-cost therapy clinics, outpatient services and most recently at an award-winning community trust based in Belfast, working with individuals, families and communities affected by the conflict in Northern Ireland.

Her primary specialisation includes working with substance misuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement and loss, chronic conditions and relationship/communication difficulties.

As a therapist with an existential leaning, Sonia encourages a therapeutic space in which clients can reflect on their possibilities, grapple with choice, responsibility and freedom, and engage with the difficulties and complexities of life on life’s terms.
