40 Years of Pioneering Addiction Treatment

We Offer a Range of Specialised Services to Help You on Your Journey to Recovery

CATCH Recovery London in South Kensington, offers therapeutic outpatient treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction alongside other related psychological conditions.

The CATCH treatment programme is centred around the abstinence-based 12 step model which has proven to be effective at helping those who suffer from addiction find freedom and improve their lives.

At CATCH, our belief is that treatment programmes must reflect the needs of the whole individual for the recovery process to be successful. A tailored programme of care at CATCH takes into consideration the mental, social, medical, occupational, family, and legal needs of our clients.

What CATCH Treats

Whether you are struggling with an addiction to alcohol, opioids, stimulants, hallucinogens, prescription medications, party drugs, or gambling, CATCH can help you, and even your family, find freedom from the illness of addiction.

Before starting your recovery at CATCH, one of our treatment specialists will assess your needs to see if you are struggling with dual diagnosis, which we also treat. This means that, alongside addiction, you might be struggling with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, ASD or personality disorders. If this is the case, our team of highly skilled, trained, and experienced professionals can tailor a therapeutic programme to best suit your needs.

The McCann family behind CATCH and Castle Craig has spent 40 years building a network of addiction and mental health specialists ensuring you receive the best quality of care, whatever your treatment plan.

Finding a Medical Detox Near Hammersmith & Fulham

You may be looking for therapeutic addiction treatment or just a medical detox. Before therapeutic treatment for addiction can start, a detoxification process from alcohol or your drug of choice might be required.

A detox involves ongoing medical supervision and round-the-clock care from nursing staff who monitor your withdrawal symptoms 24/7 so that the dosage of detox medication can be adjusted accordingly.

Because addiction is such a prevalent illness, the free detox services provided in Hammersmith and Fulham can be in demand leading to long waitlist times. These services also do not benefit from the funding required to provide the level of care needed to those who require a medical detox. Unfortunately, this can lead to fatalities if an addiction has progressed significantly.

A medically assisted detoxification at one of our sister clinics – Castle Craig, Scotland or Smarmore Castle, Ireland – will see you receive 24/7 care in an emotionally supportive environment, helping you to be as comfortable as possible during the process of withdrawal.

Addiction Therapy Near Hammersmith & Fulham

At CATCH we will provide you with a thorough assessment to identify what you will need in order to set you up for success in recovering from addiction. This will include personalised care plans which will include research-informed therapies.

These may include:

  • individual Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) – one to one sessions with a therapist to explore thought patterns, negative emotions, and how to manage these to prevent destructive behaviours, substance abuse and suicidality;
  • Group Therapy which is often included in a treatment plan along with individual therapy, and is conducted by a therapist in a group with like-minded people on the same journey of recovery as you;
  • Family Therapy which helps those close to you to understand the illness, how to offer the right kind of support, and the individual struggling with addiction to learn how the illness affects their loved ones; and
  • other specialised therapies that look to support you in resolving grief, trauma, and process addictions.

Choosing Inpatient or Outpatient Rehab

Benefits of Outpatient Rehab

If you can’t commit to a residential stay due to personal or professional commitments, outpatient care programs may suit you. Outpatient programs work well if you have a strong support network and don’t require around the clock care that inpatient options provide. Outpatient treatments are characterised by individual counselling and support groups, and you may attend once a week or several times per week depending on your needs.

Benefits of Private Inpatient Rehab

If you have been through detox or require a more intensive period of treatment, it will most likely be recommended that you stay at one of our inpatient treatment centres for the duration of your care which can last anywhere from 30-90 days. During inpatient treatment, you will participate in a range of therapies such as individual counselling, group work, 12-step meetings and holistic treatments like acupuncture or yoga.

Medical Detox

If you feel that you are struggling with an addiction and would like to get well, prior to starting therapeutic treatment, a detox may be required. This will be explained to you in your assessment and depend on your frequency and level of drug/alcohol use.

Structured drug detox is an informed process in a caring, supportive environment where you are monitored 24 hours a day. A detox may include temporary medication to ease withdrawal symptoms and regulate sleep patterns to make you as comfortable as possible. Withdrawal can be difficult and lead to challenging symptoms such as sleep disturbances, depression, and suicidality. The supervision and support given during detox can help to keep you safe.

How Long Does Drug & Alcohol Treatment Last?

As part of your CATCH admissions process, we will assess what kind of care you need. This will also include how long we recommend your treatment for addiction lasts. Length of treatment depends on the severity of addiction, any underlying conditions, your personal circumstances, and funds available. If we advise that medical detox is required, this will last for five to seven days depending on how you respond to the treatment. Following medical detox, to improve the chances of treatment success, we recommend a residential rehab stay for 4 to 6 weeks.

Looking Beyond a Drug & Alcohol Rehab in Hammersmith & Fulham

Often our lives can be the source of many triggering moments and circumstances. This can mean outpatient care isn’t for everyone and a residential rehab away from where you live might better set you up for success. Seeking treatment far from home can feel intimidating but we have seen that clients adapt well to a nurturing therapeutic environment and appreciate the time away from everyday responsibilities.

If inpatient treatment is something you would like to explore, our residential clinics, Castle Craig in Scotland or Smarmore Castle in Ireland, might be good options for you. These clinics provide physical and emotional support where you will partake in one-to-one and group therapy, recovery meetings, complementary therapies, and educational talks to help you understand the nature of addiction.

Can I Get Funding for Drug/Alcohol Rehab in Hammersmith & Fulham?

If you are looking for support in funding your rehab, speaking to your doctor is the best place to start. The NHS can fund your detox depending on your case. Unfortunately, the NHS does have a long assessment process and waiting times, and it can’t always be guaranteed that you will get the support you need.
If you would like information about private treatment, you are welcome to contact us at CATCH. We will listen to your story and concerns, and then explain the treatment options that might be suitable for you.

Can I Go Through Rehab as an Outpatient?

Yes, you absolutely can. CATCH helps many to recover from addiction on an outpatient basis. When we hear your story, we can advise if we think outpatient care is suitable for you. It usually works well for those who are still maintaining a certain standard of living whilst struggling with addiction and aren’t triggered by everyday life’s stressors.  To find out more about outpatient care, one of our team at CATCH would be happy to speak with you.

How Do I Know if I Need Rehab?

It can be very hard to know if you need rehab as it can sometimes feel like an extreme solution. But denial is a particular feature of addiction. This means those suffering with addiction have an illness that tells them they don’t have an illness. As a result, many don’t seek the help that they need. This can be incredibly painful for individuals to experience and families to witness.
If you are concerned about your use of drugs or alcohol we would be happy to speak with you so you can better understand if rehab is right for you.
