Dr Peter McCann works as a Consultant Psychiatrist for CATCH Recovery alongside his role in Addiction Psychiatry for NHS Lothian in Edinburgh. He completed medical school and foundation training at Duke University Hospital, North Carolina in London, UK as well as a Master of Science in Neuroscience at King’s College London.
After that he moved to the USA and completed training as a Resident in combined Internal Medicine-Psychiatry at Duke University, North Carolina, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. In his early career, he spent time as a Resident Medical Officer at Castle Craig Hospital, an addiction treatment centre in Scotland.
He is U.S Board certified in both Psychiatry and Internal Medicine.
